Lucknow: In a remarkable medical achievement, a 100-year-old woman with a pacemaker successfully underwent a high-risk hip surgery at Medinity Multispeciality Hospital under the supervision of orthopedic specialist Dr. R. P. Singh.
The elderly patient had suffered a hip fracture and required immediate surgical intervention. Doctors replaced the damaged hip with a socket implant to accelerate healing and reduce recovery time. Despite the complexities involved due to her cardiac condition and advanced age, the surgery was completed successfully.
Hospital officials said the patient showed exceptional recovery and was able to walk with the help of a walker the very next day after surgery. She was later discharged in a satisfied and stable condition.
The case has been described as a major milestone for the hospital and another addition to the long list of successful surgeries performed by Dr. R. P. Singh.
